This Week in Sunday School - Theme for the Littles - The Star of Bethlehem Theme for the Middles and Youth - Acting on Love Littles - Today we read A Star for Jesus, by Crystal Bowman. The book begins by reminding us that God made the stars and put them up high to shine down on earth from up in the sky. It goes on to talk about how long ago God made a special star, the “star of Bethlehem.” He put it in the sky to send a message, that Jesus our Savior had come. Shepherds and the Wise Men, and others, followed that star to find Jesus. Craft/Activity - We made scratch art star magnets. Middles and Youth - First we practiced our poems and songs for the presentation we will be doing at the Christmas Eve service. We will have one more rehearsal next Sunday, 12/22, immediately after the worship service. Then we finished our discussions on the topic of LOVE. As Bishop Singh reminded us in his sermon a couple of weeks ago, God loves us just the way we are. We don’t have to do anything to earn God’s love. However, there is also an expectation that we will ACT on that love, spread that love in the world around us. We talked about ways we do that. Upcoming Schedule Dec. 22 - Littles will come downstairs. Middles and Youth will stay upstairs. REHEARSAL in the Church after the Service Dec. 24 - Christmas Eve - Festive Christmas Eve Service in the evening with our Christmas Presentation during the service. Dec. 29 - NO SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School was held for "Littles" only this week.

Along the way, Little Cub learns about God’s special gifts in the world all around us and discovers that Jesus is the best present of all. Craft/Activity - We made a nativity sun catcher. Advent Countdown - We hope that each of our Littles is using the Advent Countdown Chain they made a couple of weeks ago to count the days until Christmas as well as to do the kind works suggested on each chain link.
