This Week in Sunday School 
Theme for the Littles - Escape into Egypt
Littles - Today we read the story of the Escape into Egypt (Matthew 12:13-23).  This story follows that of the 3 Wise Men, which we read last week.  In the night, God sends and angel to Joseph to warn him of Herod’s plan to kill the baby Jesus.  Herod has heard him called, “The King of the Jews” and sees him as a threat to his rule.  The angel advises Joseph to gather Mary and the baby and to escape into Egypt.  Joseph does so, and they stay there in hiding until after the death of Herod.

Craft/Activity - We had a maze worksheet, a coloring sheet, and a small coloring booklet, all illustrating today’s story.
